Avoiding Insurance Mistakes

At the Truslow-Yost Insurance Agency, we will work closely with you to make sure you are avoiding common insurance mistakes. We know that’s not your specialty… it’s ours.

When you work with us, you’ll find that we do more than give you quick advice over the phone. We are more than a “lizard” who will spend 15 minutes with you on the phone, and only if you are going to buy something. Nope. We will meet with you in person to carefully go over your insurance and make sure you are properly protected and saving money where you can safely do that. We’ll do all that… even  if you don’t buy from us!

If you want to find the best insurance rates in Orange, VA, Charlottesville, VA, or Fredericksburg Virginia, or the counties of Orange, Fluvanna, Madison, Culpeper, Albemarle, Louisa… call us at (866) 672-2323. Or follow us on Facebook  and post a friendly “hello” over there!

Who is Driving Your Vehicle?

In Virginia, the owner of the vehicle is liable for accidents caused by other people driving their vehicle, with their direct or implied permission. If you have someone living in your home whether they are related to you or not, they have your “implied” permission to use your vehicle.  It makes no difference if they asked! You have become “vicariously liable” for any damage they do while driving your vehicle and the insurance company who insures your car is automatically on the hook along with you. This is why insurance companies in Virginia ask (and have the right to know) who lives in your household.  In Virginia drivers cannot be excluded on a personal auto policy.
